The Festival Krewes
How the festival invited guests to join volunteer krewes for the stage, kitchen, spa and movie theater.

KREWES
In efforts to both move forward in our goal of 100% participation, and to deepen the infrastructure and features we already have in place, we are establishing an assortment of Krewes. Join a Krewe. These will be fun, doo-nanny style, not some big commitment or crappy job you have to do that will interfere with your experience, but a way to expand your experience by learning more about the various features of the village....the movie theatre, stage, spa, kitchen, the “doo”, etc, and using that knowledge to support an efficiency of FUNctionality that makes the village a better experience for all of us. And, yes....there will be french benefits.....we don’t know what they are yet, but that how we roll....
As always, the Doo-Nanny experience is better the earlier you come, and participants are welcome to come up to a week early. The “Two Possum Doo” is considered the full participatory Doo, and begins at the Possum Trot Auction one week before the art show weekend. We encourage Krewe members to come as early as possible to familiarize yourself with your area of focus, but if you can’t get there until friday or saturday, that is fine, too. We still want your participation.
Krewe responsibilities are totally voluntary, and you can spend as much or as little time as you are comfortable with in your participation, but we suggest at least 1-2 hrs per day in order to make things flow. These tasks can cover things like serving a few hor d’ ourves in the movie theatre, showing spa guests how the shower system works, taking water to the stage area, or assisting in minor kitchen duties....mostly things you can pop in and out of in 20-30min and spread two hours worth of service over a whole day.
