Please be mindful that while we never want to think about theft at the Doo-Nanny, it may happen. Please secure your goods, watch out for other vendors’ goods, and notify a Wrangler if you need assistance.

When should you arrive?

Please arrive before 5 p.m. on Friday, March 29.

In fact, we encourage everyone to arrive early. Arriving early helps you experience the Doo-Nanny, rather than just attend. Many arrive up to a full week ahead of the Doo-Nanny to collaborate, build, cook, and create.

Parking:

Please park in designated vendor parking areas.

Beginning on Friday, March 29, please do not drive or park in Doo-Nanny Central if at all possible. By this time, many people are on the property and that area is especially packed with pedestrians--adults and children alike. Work will be a-plenty at that time, so pedestrians may also be consumed with their duties and may not be paying attention to traffic.

We understand that some vendors may need to unload on Friday. If that is the case, please be quick and careful about unloading and please, please be on the look out for pedestrians. Safety is key!

Driving in Doo-Nanny Central is not permitted on Saturday and Sunday.

Food:

Food vending begins Friday night and should continue during public vending hours (or until the food runs out).

Do not rely on food vendors if you want to be sure to eat. Bring enough food, snacks, and drinks for you and some to share with your neighbors or to add to the communal kitchen.

Friday Night Possum Trot Auction:

 Free admission for all.

*Artist/vendor donations are encouraged. Have your piece of art to donate to the Possum Trot Auction ready at 6 p.m. that night.

Bidding is highly encouraged!

The tractor procession leaves from Doo-Nanny Central at 6:30 p.m. Outrageous and fun costumes are welcome! 

There will be food (for purchase), free music, dancing, and great time to be had by all on Friday night at the auction.

Saturday and Sunday Public Vending Hours:

This event is Rain-Or-Shine. And be prepared for rain. It usually happens!

 Many artists remain open after 5 p.m. on Saturday. This is your choice.

Saturday evening burn:

The sculptural burn will occur on Saturday evening when the sun sets.

Take your photo in the giant womb, throw in an item as an offering, and as evening falls watch our host set it on FIRE!

Please do no throw fireworks or other dangerous items into the womb. Fireworks anywhere on the property are not permitted, and placing them in the flaming womb is incredibly dangerous, as we do not know which way they might fly once lit. Again, safety is our first priority.

 Garbage:

Garbage is a large burden for the Anthonys and event organizers every year due to the amount of people on the property.

A large trailer will be in the woods where bagged garbage will be placed. Lending a hand for only a few minutes a day to take bagged garbage to that trailer will be a huge help and cuts down on costs. Thanks in advance for your assistance with this task.

As we get closer to the event:

1) Go to www.doo-nanny.com

2) go to the “More” tab at the top

3) select Bulletin Board (then sign in)

4) look under “Things Needed”

You may also want to monitor the Doo-Nanny Facebook page where early arrivers will be updating information often.

Important Doo-Nanny Principles:

1. Join the creativity: make some art, collaborate, pitch-in, dress-up, learn a new dance step.

2. Leave no trace: Leave your booth and campsite better than you found it. Haul out your own trash. Bring your own toilet paper and paper towels if you want to be assured to have these items.

3. Be radically responsible and respectful. Leave all dogs, guns, drugs, and fireworks at home. If you choose to drink, be legal and responsible.

4. Remember that you are a guest on the Anthonys’ property. Please act as a guest. Be helpful. Pick up trash when you see it lying around. Remember that the Anthonys have graciously invited us to use their land for the weekend. Make sure to make a positive impression such that they will be welcoming us back in 2014.

Woods of Wunder Wranglers: We have added “Wranglers” this year. They are volunteers who can assist you if you have questions now or during the Doo-Nanny. We hope this network of individuals will help you get answers to your questions, and it will spread the organization/event management duties around to several informed people, instead of all of us relying on Butch.
